Manjula Pothos, also known as Epipremnum aureum Manjula, Jewel Pothos, or Happy Leaf Pothos, stands out as a distinctive and rare Pothos cultivar. Its broad heart-shaped leaves feature wavy edges adorned with striking patterns of creamy whites and greens. While it may grow slowly, the stunning foliage it produces makes the wait worthwhile.
Manjula Care:
One great thing about the Pothos is its adaptability to different light levels. It's often chosen as a bathroom plant because it can handle low-light areas well. However, for the healthiest growth and most vibrant variegation, place your plant where it gets bright, indirect sunlight. Too little light can cause your plant to revert to a less attractive solid green, while direct sun can bleach the leaves.
Although pothos doesn't thrive in prolonged direct sunlight, it does need slightly brighter conditions compared to the golden pothos to showcase its best variegation.
The Pothos isn't picky about the type of potting soil you use, as long as it drains well. It doesn't like sitting in waterlogged soil. If you only have dense potting soil, consider mixing in some perlite, peat moss, or eco-friendly coco coir to enhance drainage. Even if you only have a dry, rocky mix, your pothos should still be content.
Overwatering is the primary threat to Pothos. While these plants can tolerate some neglect, excess water can cause root rot. Ensure the soil dries out completely before watering again. Instead of relying on sight alone, insert your finger into the soil or use a moisture meter to check. Drooping leaves often indicate thirst in your plant. If you wait too long, the glossy leaves may begin to dry and develop brown edges.
