Rhipsalis, commonly referred to as mistletoe cactus or coral cactus, is a tropical cactus that grows without spines and features long, thin, cascading stems. This plant can be lithophytic (growing on rocks) or epiphytic (growing on trees). Rhipsalis thrives indoors in indirect, filtered light with acidic soil. It prefers moist but not waterlogged soil and warm temperatures that do not drop below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
Rhipsalis cacti grow relatively slowly, which is advantageous since some specimens can reach lengths of up to 20 feet over many years.
